Ombudsman continues working for patients with HIV

The Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, received the new representative of OnuSida Venezuela, Adriana Ponte, and presented the programs they are advancing in the matter.

The Ombudsman's Office continues to take steps on behalf of patients with HIV/AIDS, with the aim of guaranteeing their rights.

In that sense, the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, received this Tuesday afternoon the new representative of OnuSida Venezuela, Adriana Ponte, according to reports Press release of the institution.

At the meeting, the Ombudsman explained to Ponte the human rights promotion, defense and surveillance work carried out by the institution throughout the national territory in favor of the population living with HIV/AIDS.

Ruiz also indicated that this advocacy entity is committed to continuing to provide training in matters of special attention, such as the case of people living with HIV-AIDS throughout Venezuela, to avoid possible acts of discrimination.

For her part, Adriana Ponte emphasized that the work of the Ombudsman's Office is key for the organization it represents, to be able to continue strengthening the rights of people living with HIV.

Finally, both authorities stated that they remain committed to strengthening and continuing to execute this working alliance that provides the promotion, defense and monitoring of the human rights of this part of the population.
