Larenses highlight the strength of popular power in communal management

Representatives of communal councils and communes of the state of Lara described as positive the meeting of President Nicolás Maduro with the Communal Circuits held last Saturday, July 6 in the entity while recounting the achievements achieved in communal matters.

Auramarina Tona from the Los Yabos communal council of Barquisimeto, Lara state, considered the visit of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to the Lara entity, as “a demonstration of strength and perseverance for the Popular Power.”

Tona was a participant in the first National Meeting of Communal Circuits held at the Barquisimeto Fair Complex, on Saturday, July 6, where spokespersons for the Communal Councils and parliamentarians of the Communes integrated into 4.500 Communal Circuits in Venezuela, exchanged experiences on the development of community management.

Tona considers that “the communes today are taking shape and it is a way of revealing how important popular power means for this revolutionary process.”

He also pointed out that the winning project in his Communal Circuit was about piped water service, highlighting that “we had more than 4 years without water from street four to street nine” and now it is being carried out for the benefit of these families from Los Yabos. , in the Palavecino municipality (Cabudare).

On the other hand, Eva Garcés from the Landaeta communal council of the El Roble commune considered the visit of the National leader as successful, stating: “It was demonstrated once again that popular power will win along with the trust that President Maduro has in his people.” .

In the El Roble community, another water service project was approved, here it is the recovery of a water tank on 12th Street.

From the Kabudari commune, more specifically, from the Los Naranjos communal council, Coromoto González indicated: “The call made by our President Maduro is for more organization, more production and for communal management to be a bastion of development for our country.”


Within the framework of the aforementioned meeting, they reviewed the progress of the projects resulting from the National Popular Consultation on April 21 organized by the Communes and Social Movements portfolio, currently in charge of community member Ángel Prado.

During the meeting, Prado spoke about the popular assemblies held in the neighborhoods of different municipalities in the country, while highlighting that "the right intends to hit our people morally, and we find a people that ratifies the slogan that hope is in the street and listening to the people.”

He referred to the financing granted to the Villa San José Bolívar Commune, located west of Barquisimeto, where they managed to reactivate an aqueduct that had been paralyzed for years and that will provide water to more than 700 families in the Ana Soto parish (Anasoli) in the Iribarren municipality (Barquisimeto). ).

In economic matters the Vice President Delcy Rodríguez He stressed the participation of community members in “productive matters” as very important; The Communes and the communal circuits make a very important contribution to the national economy, the productive exhibition that the Communes make with their hands gives us certainty that the future of Venezuela is victory,” stressed Rodríguez, who by the way was appointed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro as godmother of the state Lara in support of Minister Ernesto Villegas.

The gathered community members reflected and took stock of the new territorial organic method for working from the popular bases, and also contributed concrete proposals in the construction of the Community Plan.

Next consultation

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced that a new National Popular Consultation 25 will be held on August 2024, with the aim of continuing to strengthen the execution processes of community projects and advance the transformation and changes that the country needs.

Maduro revealed that to date and according to the report delivered by Minister Prado, 220 projects have been completed, which is why he instructed the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, to “proceed to lower the resources for the second project of those communities,” said Maduro. .

Likewise, he reiterated that there will be four consultations a year for infrastructure and public services projects that must be selected by the inhabitants of the communities, "without interference from bureaucrats and technocrats."

Communal empowerment

During the massive meeting, a Commission was formed made up of the talent of Communes and Social Movements directed by Prado, as well as the vice president of Communal Councils and Communes of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Jorge Arreaza to develop a plan with which perfect the consultation system in this way, as demanded by President Nicolás Maduro.

“We carried out the consultation in 4500 circuits, I want a job well done to better define the communal circuits that now exist, perfect the system of communal circuits and adapt them to the base Communal Councils,” added Maduro.

The Venezuelan president's call was made to the 4.500 communal circuits to assume self-government of the people, of the bases and self-government of the Communes. He also called for the activation of the Communal Economy tables regarding food development plans, communal tourism and Social Property Companies (EPS).

On the other hand, he ordered the Minister of Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, to “immediately make a communal plan to pay the surgical debt Comuna by Comuna, together with our people; community health,” Maduro stressed.

In relation to housing, he stated: “We are going to build 3 million homes together. We have already managed to build 5 million homes, but what is coming has to be new, you have to tell me the plan, the land, which family really needs it, without managers and without intermediaries,” he noted.
