Santos Negros Church and community spaces reopened in La Vega

The rehabilitation works were carried out jointly between the mayor's office and organized popular power

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, reopened the spaces of the Santos Negros Church and its auditorium, in the La Vega parish, Caracas, on the occasion of the celebration of San Juan Bautista.

According to the mayor in her account X, these works will benefit 200 inhabitants of this Caracas sector who will now have spaces with the necessary conditions to promote art and culture in this community.

“A new work by the Solutions Brigades, Brisopp, which includes a playground and outdoor spaces for art, with various opportunities for participation for artists. More works are coming, and among them the House of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers “, Meléndez reviewed.

Meléndez indicated that these rehabilitation works were carried out in conjunction with organized popular power, in response to a request from the community to President Nicolás Maduro.

The improvements in religious facilities are part of an initiative by President Maduro, for the well-being of the believing community.

The Chapel of the Black Saints is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, Saint Peter, Saint Anthony and Saint Benedict, and is a symbol of Afro-Venezuelan culture and its deep devotion.
