Maduro: Grandfathers and grandmothers have been the hardest hit by the sanctions

The Head of State emphasized that the number of Grandfather and Grandmother Circles must be increased in order to directly support them in health and nutrition, among other things.

During the Congress of the Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland, held in the Parque del Oeste Alí Primera, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, through a telephone link, explained that those who have been the most affected by the measures unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States, has been the founding generation.

He specified that if something characterizes the grandfathers and grandmothers, it is loyalty to the Homeland, to the family, and to the legacy of Commander Chávez and he thanked them for the support they have given him.

During the course of the day, the grandparents expressed their concerns as spokespersons for their respective communities, which were listened to by the President who said he was very aware of the proposals.

“We have to put our efforts with the Great Grandfathers and Grandmothers Mission, to the maximum, to advance in each of the vertices. It is the founding generation, of the new Homeland, of the good Homeland, the beautiful Homeland. It has been the generation hardest hit by criminal sanctions and imperialist aggression, that is why I personally assumed this Great Mission, and I thank the grandfathers and grandmothers of the entire country, who are in Congress today Saturday and tomorrow Sunday meeting, talking, working , planning.”

Maduro requested that all proposals be delivered to him, in order to refine and incorporate them.

The young people will return

The Head of State also announced that given the recovery of the economy that has been underpinning, they will achieve the return of young people to Venezuela through the Plan Vuelta a la Patria.

“Let all those boys come back, who had to leave due to the sanctions, we will have them with us sooner rather than later, we will see that with our eyes,” he indicated.

More Circles of Grandfathers and Grandmothers

He added that it is important to advance in the circles of grandparents, which must be the central nucleus to establish a health system that guarantees them all care. “We are going to organize for health, to bring joy to the communities, and life to families, food.”

He indicated that in Caracas he has been informed that there are 138 Grandfather and Grandmother Circles. "We have to advance much more, in Caracas and the entire country (...) because it has to be the central nucleus to directly, collectively and personally protect all our grandparents, to protect their physical condition, their health, to establish "A health system that goes directly to the person and guarantees all care in detail, we have to achieve it, we are going to achieve it."

He announced that next Wednesday there will be a national day, in which the president plans to join the planned activities where grandparents will do dance therapy, will be attended by various institutions, among other things.

Vice President: Pharmacy in each municipality

Likewise, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, was present at the event and took a tour of the western park, where several stations were placed where older adults could enjoy spas, medical care, chess competition, dominoes, among other activities.

He specified that there will be a pharmacy in each municipality for older adults to pick up the required medicine directly.

“The President has given the order to the Minister of Health and the government team that we bring the medicine to their homes,” he recalled, adding that through the 1 x 10 and the Patria Survey the requirements of each one can be systematized. .

Representatives of State institutions were also present, in order to provide service to older adults.

On the other hand, Rodríguez indicated that the claps for grandparents must arrive with proteins, as well as a pharmacy in each municipality for them.

The senior executive official said that a space for them to share “their knowledge” as well as a space for “brain gymnastics” is planned in the Casas de Abuelos y Abuelos.

Rodríguez noted that in the general assemblies that are held, it is necessary for grandparents to bring their proposals, their experience and “mark our future with history.”

He added that the oldest grandfather is President Nicolás Maduro who continues to take care of the family, without stopping, despite the criminal sanctions of the “extremists” and the “gringos.”

Meléndez: Comply with the ordinances

Meanwhile, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, noted that grandparents are the university of life and they are the ones who, with their proposals, teach the necessary path to take the required actions.

He said that in the case of public transportation there is an ordinance, as well as others that favor older adults.

“The ordinances we have must be complied with, for solidarity aid, which reaches the 22 parishes monthly through the Municipal Institute for Adults and Seniors.

He indicated that the proposals and conclusions that emerged in the regional Congress will be taken into account for the National Congress.

“Our President's priority is grandmothers and grandfathers,” indicating that he heads the Great Mission, while the direct instructions of the President are followed.
