Venezuela's inclusion in the BRICS will attract foreign investment

Deputy Fernando Bastidas highlighted that the results of inclusion will be quickly noticed thanks to the existence of special economic zones in the country.

The inclusion of Venezuela in the BRICS will serve to attract international investments to our country, which will directly affect the Venezuelan economic engine, said the deputy of the National Assembly (AN), Fernando Bastidas.

During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the parliamentarian highlighted that the results of the inclusion of Venezuela in the BRICS bloc will be noticed more quickly thanks to the existence of special economic zones in the country.

The parliamentarian pointed out that if Venezuela is admitted to the international entity, it would be integrated into a group of emerging economies that represent close to 30% of the world's GDP and host around 40% of the world's energy supply.

Also, he highlighted as a benefit that the organization signed a document to devise alternatives to international payment mechanisms that are governed by the US dollar.

The BRICS is a bloc named after the acronym of its founding countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, the latter incorporated in 2010, two years after the group of nations was formalized in 2008.
