The Attorney General of the Republic announced the arrest of 3 officials of the National Land Institute (INTI), Guárico, for acts of corruption after the complaint made by Juan Rengifo, who reported that workers attached to the INTI, illegally demanded the delivery of a filly Quarter-mile race to carry out a procedure before said body.
The detainees were identified as Pedro Carpio (Director of INTI-Guárico), Miguel Aponte (Coordinator of INTI in Zaraza) and Carlos Mirabal (Technical Expert of INTI), who were presented on June 18.
The highest representative of the public Vindicta said that Carlos Mirabal is a fugitive. "At any time he will be arrested and brought to justice. The 4 detainees were prequalified for the crimes of aggravated extortion, aggravated corruption, aggravated association and forging of a public document"
Saab stressed that these actions have the full support of the Inti directive, which even issued a statement to recognize the work of the Public Ministry
He added that on May 12, the MP coordinated a controlled handover in Valle de la Pascua, "in which Wilmer Hernández (an individual) and Oscar Rondón (an official of the National Land Institute in Altagracia de Orituco) were apprehended in flagrante delicto."
