The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) congratulated, through a statement, the victory of the new president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, during last Sunday's elections.

Likewise, in the aforementioned text, released by the executive secretary of this organization, Jorge Arreaza, the member countries of this regional bloc expressed warm recognition to the Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The full Alliance statement is reproduced below:

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) congratulates the people of the United Mexican States on the historic electoral day of the "Federal Electoral Process 2023-2024", in which the Presidency of the nation, as well as a new Congress, eight governorships, the head of government of the capital and a series of local positions, which took place on June 2, 2024.

The ALBA-TCP highlights the deep democratic vocation of the Mexican people, demonstrated in the largest electoral process in the history of that country, which has comfortably and overwhelmingly ratified its own path in the affirmation of its sovereignty and national liberation project, broadly defeating an unprecedented campaign of lies, media manipulation and the instrumentalization of social networks for political purposes.

Likewise, the Bolivarian Alliance applauds the undisputed democratic victory of the candidate of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA) of the Workers' Party (PT) and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, a worthy example of Latin American and Caribbean women, whose extensive trajectory, honesty and commendable preparation, meets all the conditions to consolidate the process of the Fourth Transformation undertaken 6 years ago by the President and líder popular, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In this sense, the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance extend warm recognition to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, brave patriot of Our America, who knew how to demonstrate his national, regional and global leadership to lead the Mexican nation with great wisdom through the path of a new Latin American order of union, humanism and brotherhood.

The ALBA-TCP expresses its wishes for success in the management of the first woman elected as president of Mexico and to the rest of the elected authorities for this new beginning of the Mexican nation.
