Venezuela and Türkiye sign cooperation agreements on energy matters

The agreements include: Construction of a petrochemical plant producing ammonia and the concession for the exploitation and marketing of gold and copper

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, signed this Friday cooperation agreements between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Türkiye to strengthen strategic alliances for the development of the value chain of liquefied natural gas and natural gas liquids for their export, subscribed by Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and Yildirim.

“We are sealing strategic projects, a win-win alliance between Türkiye and Venezuela,” he asserted.

From the El Ingenio de Bolívar Museum in San Mateo, in the state of Aragua, Maduro explained that a contract was signed for the construction of a petrochemical plant producing ammonia between Petroquimica de Venezuela (Pequiven) and the Turkish group of companies Yildirim.

“Pequiven, with the power it has, makes a first-world strategic alliance to build a new plant with the best technology (…) We already have new steps planned to continue partnering in the investment and construction of the immense potential in the field of petrochemicals that Venezuela has,” the President stressed.

Likewise, the National President reported on the signing of a concession contract for the exploration, exploitation and commercialization of gold and copper minerals "to continue the development of the Mining Arc, designed by Commander Chávez."

He hoped that what was signed “will become an example of ecological development that respects nature.”

Maduro highlighted the strategic nature of the alliances sealed between Venezuela and Türkiye in petrochemical, gas and mining matters.

On the other hand, Maduro highlighted that we are overcoming the economic war, we have defeated the sanctions. “I can say today that I have the economic reins of the country.”

Investment

During the activity, President Maduro highlighted that this year 2024, internal investment in the Venezuelan economy will skyrocket.

He highlighted that the first quarter of 2024 Venezuela had a growth in Gross Domestic Product of more than 7% with a projection of more than 8%.

“It is a good opportunity for investors. Venezuela is a sovereign, independent country that has demonstrated stability,” he stated.

In this sense, he reiterated that Venezuela has grown in the real economy, which produces goods, products and services. “In addition, the country's internal credit has grown, as well as the financing of new projects and ventures.”

In this regard, he assured that the economic war “we are overcoming it, we have defeated the sanctions. “I can say today that I have the economic reins of the country.”

“We defeated DolarToday and Cúcuta, all those factors of economic destabilization,” added the Dignitary.

PDVSA

President Nicolás Maduro stated that no one will privatize Petróleos de Venezuela Sociedad Anónima (Pdvsa), “we, on the basis of the law and the Constitution, will continue to obtain investments, technology and future markets for Venezuelan gas.”
