Moncada: Citgo auction is due to the betrayal of the right

It is promoted by Venezuelans who are living in the United States

The ambassador, Permanent Representative of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), Samuel Moncada, assured that the betrayal of a group of Venezuelans linked to the extreme right who live in the United States will end with the auction of private companies on the 15th. July of Venezuela's main asset abroad, the Citgo refinery, a subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa).

“It is a theft of the empire, but what worries criminals is that it happens before the elections “because it would help Maduro.” This is what the enemies of Venezuela and its local agents confess,” Moncada explained through a post on his account on the X network.

The diplomat's statement arose after the Reuters news agency reported that members of the opposition have held meetings with officials and legislators of the United States Government in order to stop the auction of company shares, ordered by a US court to pay creditors.

The people will charge them

For her part, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, assured that the Venezuelan people “will take full responsibility” for this betrayal “of this gang of criminals” who handed over the wealth, assets and heritage of Venezuela to the United States and Europe.

“Citgo is the pathetic example of what they would do if they took political power in Venezuela. DELIVERYERS WILL NOT RETURN!!! Never again,” said Rodríguez.

Venezuela has denounced that the sale of Citgo responds to a plan conceived between the leader of Voluntad Popular Juan Guaidó and former US president Donald Trump, to sell it to a joint venture between Israel and the North American nation.

“The theory of the “alter ego”, collecting debts of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela with assets of PDVSA (CITGO) supported the political operation and was the judicial excuse to strip Venezuela of Citgo in a US court, all of this as part of Trump’s maximum pressure policy,” explained the Vice Minister of Anti-Blockade Policies, William Castillo, on his social media account on February 5.

There he clarifies that the “genius” of said operation was José Ignacio Hernández, who within the self-appointed interim government of the duo Guaidó and Leopoldo López, was appointed as attorney with the purpose of “protecting the assets of the country”, despite being linked to the company Crystallex, one of the promoters of this arbitration process against Venezuela.

“This is the most disgusting and disgusting robbery operation against a State, using a court in another country and the recognition of a non-existent “Government” in living memory,” Castillo noted in that message.

Due to the illegal policies applied by Washington since 2015, Venezuela has lost around 800 billion, heading towards a trillion dollars, as denounced in recent days by the Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America Treaty of People's Commerce (ALBA-TCP), Jorge Arreaza.
