Ansa foresees 3,5% expansion of the sector this year

The president of the National Association of Supermarkets and Self-Services (Ansa), Italo Atencio, estimated that 2024 could close with a growth of 3,5% compared to 2023.

In an interview on Televen, the union leader revealed that these numbers can be reached if the trend that was registered in the months of May and June of this year continues.

The president of Ansa maintained that there has to be a greater increase in the supply of products so that the price of the items is maintained or lowered.

In addition, attention He pointed out that the main thing is to ensure that the Venezuelan's income increases, as well as review the issue of the tax burden. In this sense, he reiterated that he is proposing to the national Executive to implement a day without VAT.

“The main question is how to make the legal applicability because the business would not have to declare VAT and also how to limit it so that it does not become a wholesale purchase and thus speculate,” explained the union leader.

He pointed out that it would not only be a proposal for supermarkets and self-service stores, but for general commerce.
