Venezuela will receive the Caribbean Series in 2026

Greater Caracas was once again designated as the venue for this international tournament

Venezuela will become the headquarters of the Caribbean Series in 2026 after reaching an agreement with the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) for the success recorded in 2023.

This becomes the second Caribbean Series that is organized by the country in a period of three years, after Venezuela spent nine years without receiving support to host the international tournament.

The announcement was made by the president of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, Giuseppe Palmisano, during a press conference held this Tuesday morning at the Monumental Stadium.

Also present during the event were the president of the CBPC, Antonio José Herrera, and the Minister of Sports, Mervin Maldonado.

“The CBPC has given permission to the league in a conversation that was had with the sister league of Puerto Rico for the 2026 Caribbean Series to be held in Venezuela,” said Palmisano.

The decision by Puerto Rico to allow the Caribbean Series to be held in Venezuela is due to the fact that the country will host several matches of the World Baseball Classic (WBC) and will focus its efforts on said tournament.

With this change with Venezuela, Puerto Rico will host the Caribbean Series in 2029, following the venue calendar approved by the CBPC Assembly.
