Salvador Pérez went down in Major League Baseball history on Monday, after becoming the receiver with the most home runs in a season.
The Venezuelan surpassed the mark of the immortal Johnny Bench, who in 1970 hit 45 home runs.
Perez had equaled Bench's mark last Thursday against the Oakland Athletics.

The homer near the mask also helped the Kansas City Royals extend their lead over the Cleveland Indians 7-0.
It also equates him with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as major league leaders and puts him ahead of José Abreu as leader of the RBI department.
For its part, Kansas ended up taking the win in the first of the doubleheader at Cleveland 7 runs for 2.
Meanwhile, 'Salvy' closed the game 4-2, with two RBIs and leaves his average at .275.
