Rengifo enters the Angels' injured list

The Venezuelan infielder has inflammation in his right wrist

The Venezuelan second baseman of the Los Angeles Angels, Luis Rengifo, was placed on the 10-day injured list this Friday due to inflammation in his right wrist.

To counter the move, the “Seraphim” selected the contract of Keston Hiura from Triple-A Salt Lake City. In addition, they transferred right-handed pitcher Andrew Wantz (right elbow inflammation) to the 60-day disabled list.

It should be noted that Rengifo left Wednesday's game after a foul committed with his right arm near the wrist. Just this Friday he underwent an MRI that revealed the injury.

The injury comes at the least appropriate time for the Venezuelan. As a result of his outstanding season, he was fighting for the American League batting title; by boasting an average of .315 (third best in the circuit).

There was also the possibility that it would attract multiple playoff contending teams during the trade period. Now, the possibility could fall with this trip to the disabled list.
