San Diego Padres agree with David Peralta

The player was in free agency after leaving the Chicago Cubs

The San Diego Padres reached a minor league agreement with Venezuelan baseball player David Peralta, who hopes to regain his level in the Major Leagues during this 2024 season.

The Venezuelan outfielder joined the Triple A branch of the American franchise at the age of 36 to seek a place in the Big League.

The information was announced by the team this Saturday through their social networks to welcome the Venezuelan.

Peralta had signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs before starting the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) season, but ended up choosing the free agency after remaining in Triple A.

Throughout his 10-year career in the Major Leagues, Peralta has defended the jerseys of the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Rattlesnakes.

Peralta has a lifetime batting average of .279 in which he has had 1.103 hits, 117 home runs, 541 runs batted in and 491 runs scored.
