Luz Vargas, her key is team play

The coach is already in charge of Llaneros de Guárico and will seek to give the team a second wind

Luz Marina Vargas marked a milestone in Venezuelan men's basketball when she was named coach of Plainsmen of Guarico just a few days ago.

Now he takes the reins of a team that is in second-to-last place in the SPB table, a challenge that he assumes with great responsibility.

In statements to the Guárico team's press team, the strategist gave her first impressions.

“These two practices are quite satisfactory, the kids have a lot of positive minds, a group with enthusiasm and that is the main thing,” he said.

Regarding what it was like for her to reach this point in her career, Vargas indicated: “My first dream was to be in the state teams, then that dream expanded to being in the national team and belonging to the staff of a professional team.”

“I thank the Llaneros de Guárico organization for the opportunity they gave me and right now this is a dream come true.”

The coach who took Óscar Silva's place expressed that being in charge of the team is a great challenge. “This is too big a challenge, but let's hope that all this is positive,” she exclaimed.

Vargas also assured that the team has to move forward, and that they just have to believe it, change their chip.

“The first thing is teamwork, which is created in each of the players and if we do it we can achieve great things,” he said.

To conclude, the strategist indicated: “The most important thing is to try to find victories, as many as can be achieved. Mathematically we are not eliminated, we can continue fighting until the end.”

Llaneros is in Group 1 of the SPB in the eighth place of the table with a record of 3-12 and 18 points added.
