Luis Torrens will reinforce the Mets catcher

The Venezuelan hopes to debut with the New Yorkers against the Arizona Cascabeles

The New York Mets have acquired the services of Venezuelan baseball player Luis Torrens, who arrives from the New York Yankees after a change between both franchises.

The news was announced by SNY through their social networks, where they detailed that the Venezuelan catcher was included in the Mets roster to join the team immediately.

According to New York Post journalist Joel Sherman, the team led by Carlos Mendoza paid the sum of 100 dollars to the Bronx Bombers for Torrens.

The players joining the Mets roster are José Iglesias, Dedniel Núñez and Luis Torres, while those leaving are Christian Scott, Brett Baty and Omar Narváez.

Narváez was placed on assignment by the team in order to be taken by any of the other franchises within the Major Leagues.

Narváez has not had the best possible season, posting a .154 average with 10 hits, five RBIs and four runs scored in 65 at-bats.

For his part, Luis Torrens will finally have his debut in the current Major League Baseball campaign after not having been called up throughout the season by the Yankees.

In the Minor Leagues he left an impressive average of .279 with 31 hits, five home runs, 19 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
