As we have seen for a few weeks, it seems that the Venezuelan was not affected by going on the injured list. From May 6 to 16, a viral infection kept him out.

And, in his last 10 games since being reactivated, he is hitting .357; product of 15 unhittables in 42 turns. He also had three doubles, a triple, two home runs, six RBIs and eight runs scored. His OBP is .400, his Slugging is .619 and his OPS is 1.019 in 45 plate appearances.

Likewise, we must not fail to mention that since last April 18, Luis Rengifo leads all of baseball – for hitters with a minimum of 90 plate appearances – in average (.386), he is fourth in OBP (.443) , sixth in Slugging (.614) and fourth in OPS (1.057).

In that same order of ideas, he leads the “seraphim” offense in that period in stolen bases (7), average number of balls put into play (BABIP; .429) and adjusted weighted runs created (wRC+; 199). This means that his production in stripes to help win games has been greater than 99% since April 18.

He has stood out with a great rhythm in these first months

However, after getting three hits in four at-bats on Tuesday in a 4-3 victory over the Yankees in Anaheim, Luis Rengifo reached 13 multi-hit games. It is the first time in his career that he has totaled that amount in his team's first 54 challenges in a season.

In 144 plate appearances this year, 'Fifo' has an average of .338, OBP of .385, Slugging percentage of .511 and OPS of .896. All this, in addition to 45 hits, nine doubles, four home runs, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored. It should be noted that, if there were official appearances, it would be líder American League bat and colíder from all over MLB with Mookie Betts.
