Jesús Tinoco back to the Majors with Texas

The right-hander from Monaco pitched for the last time at the highest level with the Rangers in 2022

The Venezuelan right-handed pitcher, Jesús tinoko, was called up from AAA this Thursday by the Texas Rangers, as one of the movements corresponding to the loss of Jon Gray; that he was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain.

Jesus Tinoco; 29 years old, he last pitched in the Major Leagues in 2022, leaving an ERA of 2.18 over 17 appearances (including two starts). In 20.2 innings of work he struck out 18 opponents, walked 10 and his WHIP was 1.06.

That said, the native of Maturín tried his luck last year in Japan, where despite leaving a 0-3 record with Leones de Seibu in the NPB, he compiled a very good ERA of 2.83 (11 CL in 35 IL) in 38 appearances relief.

That, along with an also good internship in Venezuela with Navegantes del Magallanes in which he left a percentage of deserved runs of 2.51 in 16 appearances, ended up convincing Texas to give him a Minor League contract and allow him to exhibit himself in spring training, where he recorded average clean lines of 3.72 in 9.2 acts of work.
