Jaison Valdez feels good with Spartans

The foreign point guard continues to adapt to the team and assures that he wants to contribute his grain of sand in each game

Jaison Valdez arrived at Spartans de Distrito a week ago and is adapting to his new team in the capital. The Dominican point guard already knows what Venezuelan basketball is after his internship with Llaneros de Guárico.

About what his arrival in Venezuela has been like, Valdez gave his impressions to the Spartans press team.

“I thank God and the Spartans management for the welcome and treatment they have given me so far. “I have felt very good,” he indicated.

The point guard assured that since he set foot in the country he has been adapting: “I have gotten into rhythm little by little in the days that I have been training and I hope to continue like this,” he expressed.

Valdez hopes to be an important piece in coach Juan Manuel Córdoba's scheme. Regarding this, the importer said that he wants the team to remain in gear.

“Helping the young team with my good passes, with the defense, talking to my teammates and trying to make sure we all understand each other on the field.”

Valdez had already had an internship in SPB basketball when he defended the Llaneros de Guárico jersey, the point guard assured that there is a difference between his first participation and this one.

“Unlike when I came in 2019 with Llaneros, there is much more native talent and many better reinforcements,” he assured.

Finally, he indicated that: “We need to get together, play together and play good defense to win the games ahead.”

Currently District Spartans are in seventh place in Group 2 of the SPB with a 5-8 record.
