Felipe Rivero: “I was confident in my fastball”

The closer managed to finish the game to seal the victory despite allowing two runs

Pitcher Felipe Rivero managed to support the Carabobo Mariners again to achieve a new victory in the 2024 season of the Major League of Professional Baseball (LMBP).

Despite the victory, the closer did not have his best performance, pitching for two innings in which he allowed two runs, five walks and struck out an opponent to put his ERA at 4.50.

In statements offered to the LMBP press team after the game, the Venezuelan stated that he was confident in his pitches and especially in his fastball to be able to get the innings.

“Having hitters of the quality of Gorkys, Ramos and César one has to polish the pitches because they have quality in the Major Leagues and they can punish you,” he expressed.

“I kept trusting my fastball, the only thing I had to do was locate it and I was able to strike out with the fastball. I managed to throw a couple of slow pitches,” she added.

With this victory, Marineros remains in second position in the competition with a record of five wins and three losses, one game ahead of District Caciques.
