Darwinzon Hernández shines in SoftBank bullpen

The Venezuelan has the second best effectiveness of his team in Japan with at least 20 innings of work

The Venezuelan left-handed pitcher, Darwinzon Hernández, is living his second campaign; and first fully with the SoftBank Falcons in Japanese Professional Baseball (NPB) and so far his performance has been extremely satisfactory and vital within the bullpen of a team that is the leader of the Pacific League with a record of 50 victories and barely 25 defeats (in addition to three draws).

Now, this Wednesday in his team's 4-3 setback against the Orix Buffaloes, the left-hander appeared in the eighth inning and retired the three batters he faced; including one with a strikeout, for his eighth hold of the season.

He also has the second best effectiveness of his team with a minimum of 20 innings of work (1.57), even above the Mexican Roberto Osuna; who is he líder in circuit saves with 20.

However, Darwinzon Hernández has a 3-0 record, a microscopic WHIP of 0.96, 39 strikeouts and only nine walks in 23 innings of work - and 23 appearances -. Additionally, his RBI rate per nine acts of work is 15.26 and opponents are hitting .163 against him.
