And the 39-year-old cyclist did what was necessary by finishing in 12th position in the BMX freestyle Olympic qualifier in Shanghai. In total he accumulated 80.93 points, the minimum to get into the decisive stage, which will be held this Saturday in the busy Chinese city.

Of that total, there were 81.26pts in the first session; which represented the 13th best score and later 80.60 in the second round, settling for the 14th best accumulated. Which, consequently, gave him the numbers to put his name among the best 12.

“It was tough but it was achieved, we are going one pedal at a time in search of that Olympic classification,” wrote Daniel Dhers on the social network X.

Now, let's remember that the six cyclists with the best points total in the Shanghai and Budapest pre-Olympics will be able to seal their ticket to the biggest Olympic event.
