De Contreras; who retains the sixth step, it is said that he not only has a good hit to be a catcher, but in general, and the proof of this is that he has the second best average in all of baseball (.359) only behind Shohei Ohtani and is fifth in RBIs with 34. “The 26-year-old Venezuelan is in the 90th percentile or better in almost all of Statcast's key metrics.”

Likewise, on Wednesday he extended his streak of consecutive games getting on base to 23 after going 5 for 3 – with a triple and a home run (6) – and also recorded his 18th multi-hit game; the second most so far in the race, tied with Jeremy Peña and behind Shohei Ohtani (20), who leads the list.

For his part, Salvador Pérez is in ninth place, all thanks to the fact that he is the player with the second best average in the entire MLB (.323) below his compatriot William Contreras, whom he also follows in OBP (.390 vs. .434), Slugging (.542 vs. .553), OPS (.932 vs. .987) and runs batted in, since the Royals captain has 33.

“He is in the top 5% of the Major Leagues in expected batting average, expected slugging percentage and expected wOBA, so that production could remain at this level all season.”

The rest of the ranking includes: Mookie Betts (2), Juan Soto (3), Marcell Ozuna (4), Kyle Tucker (5), Aaron Judge (7), Ryan Jeffers (8), Alec Bohm (10).
