“Bocha” Batista misses the match against Jamaica

Leandro Cufré will be on the Venezuela bench on the third day of the Copa América

Fernando “Bocha” Batista will not be able to direct la Vinotinto this Sunday when they face Jamaica for the third day of the Copa América. The Argentine is the third coach to serve a one-match suspension in the continental tournament.

According to several reports, the reason why Batista will not be able to be on the bench is due to a delay in leaving the dressing rooms to the field of play in the duel against Mexico.

Batista's place will be taken by his assistant Leandro Cufré. In addition, “Bocha” will not even be able to be in the dressing rooms to give a technical talk and has to pay a fine of $15.000.

“Bocha is very hurt, because as a coach he is not in charge of the National Team. We respect Conmebol's decision and we have to accept it,” declared Leandro Cufré at a press conference.
