Bocha Batista is not afraid of the lack of friendlies

The strategist Vinotinto He assured that the national team continues with its preparation for the Copa América

La Vinotinto It is already concentrated with all its squad to face the Copa América 2024, the national team is in Tampa, Florida, where a few days ago they began their training for the competition.

Regarding this, Bocha in an interview given to TNT Sports assured that: “When we started planning the Copa América we had a FIFA date, some games were offered to the Federation to play. Two or three friendlies there was a game scheduled with Canada, it happens that we are in Tampa and we had to travel to New York.”

"Every coach, beyond wanting to play, also has fear, some injury (...) This is like everything on Monday the newspaper will say: If things go badly for us it's because we don't play friendlies and if things go well for us, what a good strategy from Fernando Batista," he added. .

At the same time, the Argentine emphasized how exhausting the mobilization of the team within the United States can be.

“Here (the US) each trip is five hours, that generates wear and tear, having to leave two days before, you can lose up to five or six days of training. Beyond that playing a friendly match is important,” he said.

Batista also indicated that the conditions for the warm-up matches were not in place and that the rival he had in mind was already known.

“I considered, together with the Federation, that it was a lot of wear and tear because the conditions were not there, they offered us a rival that we had already had, so I decided to do a good preparation and be all together. On Saturday we are going to play a match with a local team,” he assured.

Those led by “Bocha” Batista will make their debut in the Copa América 2024 on June 22 against the Ecuador team.
