Batista: “I am behind the dream that we all have”

The strategist ruled out the possibility of signing with the Ecuadorian team

The technical director of the Venezuelan national team, Fernando 'Bocha' Batista, assured that he does not plan to abandon la Vinotinto on their way to the 2026 World Cup that will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

These statements were made when asked about the interest of the Ecuadorian team during an interview for D-Sports, this after the dismissal of coach Félix Sánchez Bas.

“I heard the rumors (about Ecuador) because one is not alien but I am very happy in Venezuela, with the team, with the country, with the people and with the Federation. "I am behind the dream that we all have of taking Venezuela to the World Cup," he expressed..

Regarding Venezuela's performance against Canada, the strategist recognized that the North American team was a difficult opponent from the beginning due to the quality of its players and they understood how contested it was going to be.

“We knew that we were going to face a difficult opponent, we should not underestimate Canada. They left out Chile and Peru in the group round, and had to mistreat Argentina. “It is a team that has played in the World Cup,” he explained.

“We have to take charge of what we are producing. Qualifying in a group stage in three games with nine points is something we are producing on the playing field,” he added.

Finally, Bocha Batista assured that he always sought to win in the 90 minutes of the match in order to ensure his place in the semifinals without having to go to the penalty shootout.

“What I like is to always look for the rival goal and propose. I always think about winning in the 90 minutes. That is what I try to convey to them as well,” he concluded.
