Acuña successfully operated on his left knee

"El de La Sabana" will now begin his rehabilitation with a view to returning to action in the near future

The Venezuelan outfielder for the Atlanta Braves, Ronald Acuña Jr., underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to correct the torn cruciate ligament in his left knee. He suffered it last Sunday, May 26, during a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The information was released by Dominican journalist Héctor Gómez. He shared the fragment of an Instagram story published by the wife of the current MVP of the National League, María Laborde.

“Thank you God, you are so good to us,” wrote the wife of the Venezuelan player, about the audiovisual piece. There you can see Acuña leaving the operating room in a wheelchair and with his left leg completely immobilized through an orthopedic device.

It should be noted that, despite the critical moments he experienced hours after learning of the tear, the Venezuelan has become optimistic. Above all thanks to the support of his organization, his teammates and also the fans.

However, after his first operation (on his right knee), it took Acuña nine months to recover and return to action. However, it must also be noted that on that occasion the Braves anticipated his return. But, this time it is not unreasonable to think that the team could be more cautious about his return to the field probably by mid-2025, since he will now have both of his knees surgically repaired.
