Drums of the Dawn will beat in Caracas

The African heritage of our countries will be a topic of reflection

The Afro-descendant sound of 17 countries in the region will be present at the Tambores del Alba meeting, heartbeats of our identity, which will take place from June 20 to 23 in Plaza Bolívar in Caracas.

Among other aspects, the event aims to reflect on the cultural identity of the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Treaty (Alba-TCP), and thus stimulate integration and solidarity .

It will serve to develop in parallel conferences on Caribbean culture and spirituality, culture and politics, economy and tourism. It is the first cultural space created by the Alliance to strengthen the common identity between its member countries through debate and reflection on the influence of African culture.

The countries that make up the bloc will attend: Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia. Benin, Haiti, Honduras, Colombia, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay will be invited as guests.

They will take the opportunity to publicize the drumbeats of Naiguatá in La Guaira and Curiepe in Miranda, among others.

The meeting includes visits to different destinations in the country to promote cultural exchange, as well as a Spirituality Day procession that will be staged in Caracas on Saturday, June 22.
