With the musical closing held at the Kateb Yanice Theater, located in the city of Tizi Ouzou, in Algeria, the musicians of the Simón Bolívar Chamber Orchestra, directed by its associate director, Joshua Dos Santos, completed three impeccable presentations, in which the Latin American rhythms conquered the Algerian public.

With the performance of The Italian in Algiers, the Ocsb began its concert in this Algerian city, where the public enjoyed every chord of Gioachino Rossini's work, which tells a story of love developed in this nation. “It is very emblematic to play that work, which is very virtuosic for the orchestra and which we have been rehearsing since the end of 2023,” said concertmaster Ramón Román, about the selection of this opera endowed with a high musical demand, with which the group does not He had a setback when demonstrating his acting level.

The repertoire was completed by the works Symphony No. 5 by Ludwig van Beethoven, the Conga del fuego new by Mexican Arturo Márquez; the New Wave Suite and Fugue with Bird by the Venezuelan master, Aldemaro Romero.

For the director of the Kateb Yacine Theater, Mr Zaboubi Abderrahmane, the presentation of the El Sistema musicians deeply moved him: “With this musical note they managed to create incredible symphonies that even speak to the soul through the ear, because I am a little like Beethoven, but I understood it. I even felt this music. Bravo to the entire orchestra! I thank you".

The Simón Bolívar Chamber Orchestra managed to add a new achievement in the history of El Sistema by participating in this event that allowed it to reach the African continent for the first time, an effort that is appreciated by the president of the International Cultural Festival of Symphonic Music of Algeria, Mr. Bouazzara Abdelkader, to the Venezuelan Government and the Venezuelan embassy in Algeria, which through its ambassador Juan Arias articulated the process.

The musicians hope this will be the first of many visits and performances in Algeria.
