In its 17th edition, the Petare contest painted by boys and girls, organized by the José Ángel Lamas cultural foundation of the Sucre municipality, Miranda state, closes tomorrow for the evaluation of the works presented and on Thursday with the awards ceremony in the facilities of the César Rengifo theater.

Nelly Pittol, head of the Regional History division of Petare, pointed out that this initiative was born in 2008 with the simple idea of ​​​​carrying out guided tours of the historic center and talking about history and local heritage to children between 7 and 12 years old. age, so that they could then capture their creative impressions with pencils, crayons and paper. “The objective of this contest is to encourage the youngest members of the municipality to get to know and revalue Petare,” he explained.

On this occasion, 784 children participated with their respective works, including children with neurodiversity, from which 161 paintings were chosen that will be evaluated tomorrow starting at 10:00 am by a qualifying jury.

On Thursday the winning works will be awarded in a central event that will start at 10:00 am and will continue with an exhibition, a sharing with the contestants and the cultural closing.
