The Artist's House brings Yerma to the stage

The Doris Wells Room will be the space for the 6 functions

A version of Yerma, the rural tragedy by poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, will be presented in six performances starting on Friday, June 7 in the Doris Wells Room of the Casa del Artista Foundation, located in Quebrada Honda, a few steps from the College of Engineers Metro station.

It is a production adapted and directed by Oscar Escobar, the scenographic setting by Xhimena Herrera and the executive production by Dante Lombardi, which will be staged the next two weekends at 5:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3:00 pm: 3 pm on Sundays, with a cost of $2 per person and the promotion at 5 x $XNUMX.

Lombardi explained that the cast is made up of new actors and actresses, graduates of the 2023 professional training workshops of the Casa del Artista, who are already part of the stable staff of the institution. Speakers: Miliany Urbina, Rafael Ortíz, Rachel Loreto, Moisés Guédez, Edison Querales, Ismary Andrade, Yulizay Rada, Laura Marquina, Fabiana Gómez, Aracelys Sanvicente, Ariadna Alfonso and Kevin Rodríguez.

Yerma is a classic of Spanish theater that has also been performed in film and television since its premiere in 1934. It tells the story of a woman who challenges the canons of socially accepted behavior.

In this case, aesthetic and conceptual timelessness was given to the work, but underlying the idea of ​​the woman claiming her rights in the conception.
