Orange sponge cake

Ideal to share at snack time

• 3 eggs

• 180 g of sugar

• 200 g of self-rising flour

• 125 g of butter

• 8 g of yeast

• 2 oranges

• powdered sugar

To begin, add the eggs and sugar to a bowl, and beat until the mixture turns white. Then add the butter, which is as soft as possible, beat and stir with the previous mixture.

Grate an orange and remove the juice from the two oranges. This juice is incorporated into the egg mixture. Beat everything together so that everything is well mixed. Then mix the flour with the yeast and sift it, this is added little by little to the previous mixture, taking care that there are no lumps.

Separately, turn on the oven at 180º with heat up and down, and prepare a 20-22 cm removable mold. and grease with a little sprinkled flour, you can also put a sheet of greaseproof paper on the base so that the cake does not stick. Add the dough, place the mold in the center of the oven and let it cook until the cake is ready, after about 25-30 minutes, prick the center of the cake with a toothpick and, if it comes out dry, it will be ready, if it still comes out something wet, leave it for a few more minutes. When it is, remove and let it cool a little. Transfer to a tray and sprinkle with a little powdered sugar. Tip: remove the butter 1 hour before using it so that it becomes creamy.
