Venezuela presents its contributions for a better world at UNESCO

Venezuelan delegation will debate in a discussion the importance of women's participation in science

This Wednesday, Venezuela presents its contribution to improving the world at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as reported by the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez.

In this sense, he pointed out that Venezuela, from science, presents its contributions and contributions for a better world, such as the promotion of community life, collaboration networks and science to build new spaces.

The Venezuelan representation will also show the progress of the Scientific-Farmer Alliance as a model of social and technical-productive innovation, which meets 12 of the 17 objectives proposed for Sustainable Development by the United Nations (UN).

“An open science developed by Venezuelans who, based on their experiences, promote new systems for the generation of knowledge and production,” he pointed out.

Venezuela participates this Wednesday in the UNESCO discussion “Transforming the future: women and girls in Latin America and the Caribbean”, in which the Venezuelan delegation will debate the importance of women's participation in science and incorporating girls and young people in scientific and technological areas for the construction of a better world.

“Today, Wednesday, June 5, the discussion “Transforming the future: women and girls from Latin America and the Caribbean” is being held at UNESCO, where we will debate the participation and management of knowledge, science, technology and innovation promoted by women and what it is like. "It is possible to massively incorporate our girls and young people into this crucial area for building a better world," wrote Jiménez Ramírez, on his account on the social network X.

In this regard, he explained that, during the first quarter of 2024, the Bolivarian Government developed activities linked to science, highlighting the conferences carried out by the National "Scientific Seedbeds" Program, an initiative that had the participation of more than 87.535 girls, boys and youths.

“Today, 72% of ID&I projects in Venezuela are carried out by women in different areas of knowledge. Our researchers develop their studies, analyzes and experiences to provide the country with effective contributions of direct action of science for life,” added Minister Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez in her publication on the social network. 

He highlighted that the inclusion of women in scientific research and the new generations are part of an "agenda with a vocation for the future", promoted by the National Government, whose results are demonstrated in "meetings, conferences and activities of the 'Women, innovation' program. It is in TI', another initiative that places Venezuela at the forefront of the countries that form the generational change.”

«We are an active part in the production of knowledge, innovations and creations of the Venezuelan people. Sentipensantes connected from our roots with the hope and the future of Venezuela, and this reason for pride will be expressed today at the UNESCO meeting," he stated.

During the first quarter of 2024, a total of 87 girls, boys and adolescents have participated in the national “scientific seedbed” program carried out by the National Government, through the Ministry of Science and Technology, reported the head of this portfolio Gabriel Jimenez. .

Through a message published on her X account, she also reported that 72% of the Research, Development and Innovation (RD+i) projects carried out in the country are executed by women linked to different areas of knowledge.

“Our researchers develop their studies, analyzes and experiences to provide the country with effective contributions from direct action of #ScienceForLife,” said the minister through her X account.
