Manuel Medrano releases “Perfecto”, his third studio album

The Colombian singer added magical realism to his album

Colombian singer Manuel Medrano releases “Perfecto”, his third album, with which he returns after three years without new studio material and in which music and magical realism “intertwine to create a unique sound experience.”

This production, of 14 songs, is the first album by the artist originally from Cartagena de Indias, located in the department of Bolívar (north), since the release of “Eterno” in 2021, and includes songs that the artist had already anticipated such as “ Summer in NY”, released last year, and “This story”.

The album fuses “genres ranging from pop to funk, disco, folk, country, jazz, soul and Latin American rhythms,” according to a statement from its press office.

The '80s

“Perfecto” was produced by Medrano and had the collaboration of producers and musicians such as Colombians Duplat and Martín Velilla, who was producer of the album “Cumbiana”, by Carlos Vives.

Duplat also collaborated with the Cartagena native on the song “Intenso”, a song where they fused the essence of funk and disco in one work. This is the first time that Medrano includes collaborations with other artists on an album.

The mixing was done by American producer Josh Gudwin, who has worked with artists such as Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa and Bad Bunny, and has won three Grammy Awards and five Latin Grammy Awards.

Along with the release of the production, the single “Miel” was also released, which was inspired by the music of the 1980s and in which instruments such as the synthesizer and the saxophone were used.

Medrano will embark on an international tour, in which next June he will visit countries such as Argentina, Chile and Peru, and in November of this year he will tour the US and Puerto Rico.
