These six series will debut on platforms in July

Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV and Disney+ renew their catalog

Series fans will have a month full of stories in July. And from the second week of the month the premieres will be present on streaming platforms.

An investigative thriller with Natalie Portman or a fantasy comedy that adapts a Terry Gilliam classic stand out. But they are not the only ones, since lovers of the police genre will have the Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone or the unique Colombian actress Ana María Orozco immersed in real conflicts.

1.- 'The Lady of the Lake', July 19 on Apple TV+

Based on the novel by Laura Lippman, it is a suspense series set in the 70s of the XNUMXth century. It addresses issues of racism and sexism, with Natalie Portman as protagonist and executive producer.

The disappearance of a little girl shocks the city of Baltimore (USA) on Thanksgiving Day 1966. Maddie Schwartz (Portman) is a housewife trying to reinvent herself as an investigative journalist. Cleo Sherwood (Moses Ingram), for her part, plays a mother who navigates the underworld while she struggles to support her family.

2.- 'Time Bandits', July 24 on Apple TV+

With Lisa Kudrow ('Friends') as the protagonist, it is a television adaptation of the film directed by Terry Gilliam in 1981. It is considered a plea in favor of the imagination. The project has been conceived for TV by Jemaine Clement (“Flight of the Conchords”), Iain Morris (“Supercutres”) and Taika Waititi. 

A motley group of thieves and their new recruit, an eleven-year-old history buff, embark on an exciting adventure. They will be seen traveling in time to save the child's parents and the world.

2.- 'Under the Bridge, The Murder of Reena Virk', July 10 on Disney+

Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough lead the cast of this series that tells the true story of Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta). This 14-year-old Canadian teenager was brutally murdered by her own classmates in November 1997.

The script is based on the book that Rebecca Godfrey published in 2005, after six years of research.

3.- 'Sausage Party: Foodtopia', July 11 on Prime Video

The most irreverent animated film of recent years returns as a series. The original cast is reunited again in the voices of the characters. You will hear Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, Edward Norton.

In their rebellion, Frank the Sausage, Brenda and their friends cross a portal outside of Shopwell in search of their creators in the human world and have all kinds of adventures.

4.- 'Ugly Betty, the story continues' July 19 on Prime Video

The most successful Colombian soap opera in the world returns 20 years later with the star couple of the original series, Ana María Orozco and Jorge Enrique Abello.

It is a twist in which continuity is given to the original drama by revealing what happened to all its characters. Children, divorces, reunions, the project draws on the keys that made the drama an international success.

5.- 'El decameron', July 25 on Netflix

Kathleen Jordan was very loosely inspired by Boccaccio's “Il Decameron” for this series that takes place in 1348. It takes place at the time when the Black Death is ravaging the Italian countryside.
