Courteney Cox said she talks to the late Matthew Perry

The "Friends" actress believes that the actor's spirit visits her and is always near

Actress Courteney Cox revealed that the late actor Matthew Perry visits her after his death. Remembered for giving life to Monica Geller in "Friends", a series where he shared credits with Perry, Cox said he felt close to him. She also considered that in life he was “probably one of the funniest human beings in the world.”

“I feel like Matthew is close, of course… I'm very grateful to have worked so closely with him for so many years. Now he visits me a lot, if we believe in that,” Cox said in an interview with the Sunday Morning program.

Among other things, the actress revealed how she is able to maintain relationships with the deceased.

“I talk to my mother, my father and Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that I think guide us,” she added.

They spent ten years together on the set of the popular series. Likewise, their characters of Monica Geller and Chandler Bing captured attention as they were immersed in one of the longest-running romantic plots of “Friends.”

After his unexpected death, Cox, as part of the cast of the popular series, signed the joint statement in which everyone mourned the artist's death. “We are all completely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than co-stars. We were a family. “There is so much to say, but right now we are going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” they lamented.

“Fun and kind”

It should be remembered that after a time of mourning Courteney Cox wrote a more personal letter, using a remembered scene with him. “I am grateful for every moment I had with you, Matty, and I miss you every day. There are thousands of moments I wish I could share: here, before we started filming, he whispered a funny line to me, just for me to say it. He did things like that so often. He was as funny as he was kind,” she said.

Matthew Perry starred in the comedy “Friends” from 1994 to 2004 as Chandler, the charming and sarcastic member of a close-knit group of friends living in New York City.

Thanks to the popularity of the character, Perry was nominated for an Emmy in 2002 for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series, and was also nominated in 2021 as executive producer of the special “Friends: The Reunion.”

The writer also died on October 28, 2023 at his residence in Los Angeles, United States. The autopsy revealed that it occurred accidentally after consuming Ketamine.
