Ciudad Guayana ready for the thirtieth edition of the Half Marathon

The 21k will cross 5 parishes of the Caroní municipality, culminating in the Plaza Bolívar de San Félix

The auditorium of the Total Entertainment Center (CTE), Cachamay, was the setting to announce that on Sunday, September 1, the thirtieth edition of the Ciudad Guayana Half Marathon will be held, where the participation of more than 300 athletes is expected.

The most important athletics competition in the south east of the country will travel through 5 parishes of the Caroní municipality, starting in the Esquina Caliente of the Unare parish and culminating in the Plaza Bolívar de San Félix in the Simón Bolívar parish, which will have the usual range of categories which includes people with disabilities (wheelchairs) and subcategories by age.

The general manager of the Municipal Institute of Youth, Sports and Recreation, Denis Maita, explained that all the logistical and operational details of the competition are ready, so he invited the different running clubs that make life to register for the 21k .

Maita explained that the entire route will have medical assistance, hydration and safety, essential points for the development of the sports day, while detailing that the cash prize will be announced on social networks in the next few hours and that they exceed past awards.

“Mayor Tito Oviedo has arranged an entire sports and cultural program for the day of the Half Marathon, where the individual effort of each participant will be recognized, tasks that translate into the Ciudad Guayana para Vivir that we all want,” Maita commented.

Likewise, the Municipal Manager of Youth and Sports, reported that the activity will begin at 6:00 in the morning and it will be people in wheelchairs who will leave first and about 20 minutes later the other participants.
