Residents of Chuao started Corpus Christi festivities

Celebrations began early this Wednesday with the ringing of bells

With the traditional ringing of bells, early this Wednesday, residents of Chuao began the Corpus Christi festivities, one of the most deeply rooted religious traditions in this coastal town in the state of Aragua.

The activities continued at noon with the Holy Rosary, followed by visits to the homes of the Corpus Christi captains, culminating the day with prayer to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in front of the Immaculate Conception of Mary church in Chuao.

Engineer Lucellis Hidalgo, territorial tutor for the Plan I Defend Doing More, indicated that the Santiago Mariño mayor's office is working to strengthen this custom, in accordance with vertices 5, 7 and 8 of the Great Mission Viva Venezuela, My Homeland Dear, offering locals and visitors a program full of activities.

For this Thursday morning, the Holy Mass is scheduled in solemnity to the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, presided over by the parish priest José Luis González Castro, while in the afternoon baptisms, a procession of Jesus Sacramented through the streets of the town are planned. and the prayer to Jesus Sacramented in front of the religious site.

For Friday, the traditional sancocho is planned, where a sharing takes place between the inhabitants of Chuao and tourists, who will repeat the prayer to Jesus Sacramented in front of the Immaculate Conception of Mary church, culminating the festive schedule with the closing and farewell in the House of the Saint.

On Saturday, the octave and solemnity of the Blessed Sacrament will be held, while on Sunday, the celebrations will end with a visit to the Pasaguaca and La Vega sectors.
