Putin: European partners should thank Turkey for gas transit from Russia

Putin highlighted the good functioning of the Turk Stream gas pipeline to supply gas to Europe

Russian President Vladimir Putin considered this Friday that European partners should be grateful to Turkey for the uninterrupted transit of gas from Russia.

During the meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the Black Sea city of Sochi, Putin clarified that Russian gas not only reaches consumers in Turkey but also consumers in Europe, Sputnik review.

In this sense, he stated "European partners should be grateful to Turkey for guaranteeing the uninterrupted transit of our gas to the European market."

In this regard, he highlighted the good operation of the Turk Stream gas pipeline to supply gas to Europe from Russia.

In his opinion, Turk Stream is one of the arteries most important for the supply of Russian gas to Europe.
