The US recorded more deaths from covid-19 in the world in the last 24 hours

The United States registered the highest number of deaths from covid-19 in the world on Friday, accounting for 3.412 deaths, as revealed by the balance published by the international news agency AFP.

Likewise, it was evident that Russia detected 791 and Brazil, 643 fatalities in the last 24 hours, while worldwide 10.745 new deaths and 668.063 coronavirus infections were added to the statistics. It should be noted that the total number of cases exceeds 226.967.814 infections and at least 4.667.150 have died globally from complications from covid-19.

Regarding the general figures since the beginning of the pandemic, it was evidenced that the number of deaths in the United States amounts to 670.009 with 41.785.979 infections, followed by Brazil, with 589.240 deaths and 21.069.017 cases, India, with 444.248 deaths (33.381.728 cases), Mexico, with 270.348 deaths (3.549.229 cases) and Peru, with 198.891 deaths (2.164.380 cases).

Peru with 603 deaths registered the highest mortality rate, per 100.000 inhabitants, followed by Hungary (312), Bosnia (310), North Macedonia (306), Montenegro (290), and Bulgaria (285).

Meanwhile, Latin America and the Caribbean added 1.469.094 deaths (44.167.050 infections), Europe 1.282.699 (65.661.937), Asia 818.640 (52.531.145), United States and Canada 697.319 (43.347.188), Africa 204.948 (8.125.992), Middle East 192.537 (12.980.077) and Oceania 1.913 (154.425).

The AFP news agency clarified that these figures were obtained from the daily compilation of the health reports of each country and later compared with the statistics of the World Health Organization (WHO), highlighting that the less serious or asymptomatic cases have not been included.
