A total of 238 victims and more than 11 thousand people isolated is the balance left to date by the rains in southern Chile, reported the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service of that nation.
According to reports collected by Telesur, those affected are distributed among the regions of Biobío, La Araucanía, Los Ríos and Los Lagos.
“Various mass removal events have been recorded affecting vehicular traffic routes, river overflows and street flooding situations,” Telesur reported citing Senapred.
Rescue and Civil Protection elements remain on alert to respond to any emergency and support those affected by the heavy rains.
On the other hand, authorities warned that some affected areas could cause a local agricultural emergency.
