President of the Iranian Legislative Power, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf.

The Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran ratified its support for the government of Afghanistan, after the takeover of this nation by the Taliban movement, agencies report.

In statements made this Sunday in an open session of the Iranian parliament in Tehran, the capital, the president of the Legislative Branch, Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, emphasized that today the "humiliating withdrawal" of the US Army from Afghanistan has been considered by a large part of the geostrategists. as a "clear symbol" of the decline of the influence of the world's greatest power.

Qalibaf has stressed that the flight from the country by the Afghan government, a Washington "puppet", and the easy deployment of the Taliban armed group throughout the Afghan territory were the result of 20 years of occupation and inaction by the United States in the country. Central Asian. "It was clearly demonstrated that relying on the United States to improve security was a fundamental mistake made by some Afghan officials," he said.

“After 20 years of aggression, despite all its slogans, the US government not only failed to achieve tangible progress in the economic infrastructure and public welfare of the Afghan people, but also failed to meet the most basic need of civil society, it is that is to say, security ”, denounced the head of the Iranian Parliament.

In this sense, Qalibaf has emphasized that, for its part, the Iranian nation insists on the protection of the "religious and human rights" of the people of Afghanistan, without taking into account considerations such as races, languages and religions.

“The determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be the determination of the Afghan people. We are hopeful and optimistic about the future of our dear neighbor, ”Qalibaf asserted.

Under the Persian headline, Iran will defend the "honorable" nation of Afghanistan against the practices of foreign countries that seek to create instability and insecurity on Afghan soil. "The plots of these countries are carefully monitored by Iran," Qalibaf has warned.

Following the seizure of power by the armed Taliban group in Afghanistan, Washington has been criticized by the international community for its irresponsibility towards this country that it invaded in 2001, under the pretext of fighting terrorism and depose the Taliban.

The return of the armed group to power is a major failure for the mission of the US and its allies, so that even the Western authorities admit that lhe foreign military intervention in Afghanistan has been futile and a total fiasco.

According to the Brown University "Costs of War" project, the US invasion of Afghanistan killed more than 241 people, including 000 civilians. The same study reports that US taxpayers spent $ 72 trillion on this war
