Colombians involved in the assassination of the president of Haiti would be ex-military

Colombian Defense Minister Diego Molano reported that they were former military

At least six mercenaries involved in the assassination of the president of Haiti, Jovenel Moise, would be former Colombian military personnel, said the defense minister of that country, Diego Molano.

“Initially, the information indicates that they are Colombian citizens, retired members of the national army. We have given instructions (…) to our police and the army to immediately collaborate in the development of this investigation so that these facts are clarified, ”Molano said in a video sent to the media, AFP reported.

For their part, the Haitian Police arrested 15 Colombians and two Haitians, accused of perpetrating the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, the authorities announced today.
Police Director León Charles confirmed that the two nationals are also US citizens, and indicated that they are still looking for at least eight other people.

Charles added that three Colombians died during the police operations, although hours before in a press conference he indicated the death of seven individuals.
