In a joint communiqué released this Thursday, the delegations of the Colombian Government and the National Liberation Army announced that they have extended until June 8 the closing of the third cycle of the peace talks table, which is taking place in Havana, Cuba.
In the statement, published by the High Commissioner for Peace, the parties positively evaluated the work of the Dialogue Table.
The text explains that, due to the importance of the issues on the agenda being developed by the Dialogue Table, it was decided to extend the third cycle of negotiations until June 8, 2023, the date on which the official closure will take place. of the cycle.
In this sense, the issues addressed by the Roundtable for Dialogues in this third cycle are the participation of society in the peace-building process, ceasefire, and humanitarian actions and dynamics.
Likewise, the parties reiterated their gratitude to the people and the Government of Cuba, as well as to the guarantor countries and those accompanying the process for their invaluable support in the construction of peace in Colombia.
The Colombian government and the National Liberation Army resumed their negotiations six months ago, in Caracas. Currently, the dialogue table is installed in Havana, Cuba.
