Germany rejects release of COVID-19 vaccine patents

The Argentine Minister of Health, Fernán Quirós, announced in a press conference that "in three weeks" the results of the laboratory studies carried out to find out possible combinations of vaccines will be available.

"From then on there are one or two days of data analysis and according to the result we will be able to speak to society and propose alternatives," said the official.

This Tuesday afternoon the studies will begin with "a small group of candidates" who signed up to participate in the research. "Coming to Friday we will finish the application of vaccines in the initial group," predicted Quirós.

Those who have received the first dose of the Sputnik vaccine more than 30 days ago participate in the study. The combination with a dose of Oxford / Astrazeneca and Sinopharm will be tested on them.

How is the study

The trial for which more than 5.000 volunteers were enrolled in the last days will look for alternatives to maintain the vaccination schedules, for which “a group will be selected at random and one of the three alternatives will correspond to it at random: Sputnik V, AstraZeneca or Sinopharm as a second dose. '

«We will mainly evaluate adverse reactions in the first or second day, if there is pain, fever or fatigue to analyze if this combination has greater effects; then we will do a two-week clinical follow-up and at 21 days we will measure the degree of immunity that the vaccines aroused, "Quirós pointed out to Página 12.
