Sucre free of threats before the passage of Cyclone Two

The state of Sucre is free of dangers, anomalies and effects after the alert issued by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH) due to the passage of the weather phenomenon, identified as Cyclone DOS along the coasts of Venezuela, reported the governor of the entity Gilberto Pinto, together with the representatives of the Risk Control and Prevention Staff, from the regional command post installed at the Ven911 headquarters located in the city of Cumaná.

"We can say that we have no incidences of rain or wind speeds, changes in currents or precipitation," Pinto said.

He explained that the tropical wave was scheduled to hit land in Sucre at 2:00 a.m. on June 29, however, it weakened and lost strength as a cyclone as it headed northwest, passing over Isla de Margarita and continues its trajectory towards the west.

"The direction of this tropical storm has not been confirmed from its formation center in the North Atlantic and when it reached the Venezuelan mainland, it has not caused any adverse event, we have no material or personal damage to regret," he said.

Likewise, he indicated that in Sucre they remain in maximum coordination with the representatives that make up the Comprehensive Defense Body (ODI), Civil Protection authorities and Firefighters; In addition, the authorities of the National Executive agencies stationed in the state, the Sectoral Vice Presidency of Public Works and Services such as: Barrio Nuevo Barrio Tricolor (BNBT), the National Electric Corporation, Ministry of Transport and Communications.

In this sense, the governor of the state of Sucre reiterated that despite the fact that the entity is now free of threats, they continue to be on alert in accordance with the provisions of President Nicolás Maduro. He assured that 6 officials from the different security and citizen protection agencies have been deployed in the 500 municipalities that make up the region, in order to protect the integrity of the inhabitants, at the same time that he detailed that they have more than 15 machines of cleaning of the public and private sector, to deal with possible emergencies that may arise during the rainy season.

He added that 54 shelters were activated in the municipalities of Sucre, Montes, Bermúdez, Arismendi, Cruz Salmeron Acosta, Cajigal, Mejía, Mariño and Valdez. Just as he also announced that vehicular traffic will be restored on Trunk 009, after traffic in that area was restricted during the night as a preventive measure.
