The Oakland Athletics managed to beat the Houston Astros 6-2 this Friday, the second victory of the season against the sidereal team and both triumphs have fallen on the account of the Venezuelan pitcher Yusmeiro Petit (2-0).
The game was tied 1-1 in the eighth inning, opened by Mark Canha with a single off Bryan Abreu (1-1). Jed Lowrie, a former Astros player who homered in the fourth inning, followed with a single with one out.
Petit worked through an inning where he allowed a hit without a run for his second game won of the season. The victory came after the Astros had beaten the Athletics five times in the fledgling season.
For the Athletics, Venezuelan shortstop Elvis Andrus went 4 for 1 with a run scored. While for the Astros, the waiter, José Altuve, tied 4-2 with a push.
