The Venezuelan champion Roger Gutiérrez will have the first defense of his super featherweight world title of the World Boxing Association (WBA), on August 14, against a rival well known to him.
This new skirmish will be a trilogy between the Venezuelan and the Nicaraguan René “El Gemelo” Alvarado, at The Star's Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.
"The Kid" boasts a 25-3-1 record, with 20 KOs.
“I am very excited for this trilogy that I am going to have with René Alvarado. We know that the fight will not be easy and that the opponent is tough. He beat me and I just took the title from him. It will be an exciting fight and I know that the fans will enjoy it very much, ”said the Venezuelan.
The series between the two fighters is tied to one victory per side, Alvarado prevailed in the first fight and in the second hit on January 2, the 26-year-old from Zulia prevailed by unanimous decision and snatched the super featherweight belt from the Central American.
It will be a very demanding card for the Venezuelan champion who hopes to continue reigning.
