Amir Garrett, who overcame a bases loaded situation to score his second save, retired Pavin Smith on a slow ground out for the last out.
The victory went to the record of Cuban Cionel Pérez (1-0) after retiring two batters in the ninth inning.
For the Reds, Eugenio Suárez tied 4-1, with one run scored and one produced. While for the Diamondbacks, David Peralta went 1-0; Asdrúbal Cabrera 4-0 with one scored and Eduardo Escobar 5-2, with two runs scored and two RBIs.
