Venezuelan Andrés Madero announced on Saturday his choice to continue his career in American basketball and will do so with the Explorers of the University of La Salle.
Marrero, 18, will play the 2021-2022 season in NCAA Division 1 with this Pennsylvania home study.
Through his Instagram account, the 18-year-old Venezuelan highlighted that the team of this quintet was what seduced him to make the decision, “What stood out the most about La Salle is the staff, Coach Howard has two championships with Villanova, he is a motivating coach and his strength is development ”, he indicated.
The point guard, who was recently called up to be part of the national preselection for the last FIBA Americup window, has excelled in American collegiate basketball and hopes to continue on the right track.
Another Venezuelan will keep him company, the Caracas-based John Cox, who is La Salle's Director of Operations, was instrumental in Marrero's arrival.
